John ‘Juan” Lopez

Funeral services for John "Juan" Lopez, 61, of Sweetwater, will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Oct. 16, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Deacon Bill Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, recited by Pauline Gauna.
Lopez died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.
He was born Nov. 23, 1949, in Roscoe. John had lived in Sweetwater all his life and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He loved all thing Cowboy and loved his Western clothes.
Survivors include his sister, Nellie Gonzales and husband Salvador of Sweetwater; brothers, Jimmy Lopez and wife Mary of Lubbock and Paulo Lopez, Jr. and wife Suzie of Stephenville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paulo Lopez, Sr. and Isabel Gomez Lopez.
Pallbearers will be Cornelio Mendez, Cory Mendez, Raymond Gonzales, Artie Gonzales, James Gonzales and Justin Gonzales.
