John V. (Johnny Vaughn) Dudley, age 75, of Abilene (former resident of Nolan), passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at The Oaks at Radford Hills.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Slater’s Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
John Vaughn Dudley was born on Sept. 30, 1938, in Nolan to John and Lola Lee (Reynolds) Dudley. He married Ina Butler on March 2, 1974, in Abilene. He was a member of Nolan Baptist Church. He was employed for the National Guard for many years before retiring.
He is survived by his step daughter, Gayl Mikeska Brotherton Laird and husband Lance Laird; and numerous nieces, nephews and life-long friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ina Butler Dudley; parents, John and Lola Dudley; and step father, Earl Wallace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice, 1682 Hickory Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 1-2 p.m.
