Joseph Aaron Rayburn, age 84 of Rowlett, TX, passed away May 23, 2011. He was born April 17, 1927 in Roscoe, TX, to Henry Franklin Rayburn and Claudia Mae (Helms) Rayburn. Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army Aircorps during WWII. He worked in logistics in the textile industry. Joseph was a member of the VFW, the American Legion Post 0227 in Roscoe, TX and First Baptist Church of Rowlett, TX.
He is survived by his wife, Flora Mae Rayburn of Rockwall, TX; daughters, Jeorginna Pyles and husband Harold of Rowlett, TX and Kathryn Crenshaw and husband Travis of Rockwall, TX; sisters, Inez Howe of Corpus Christi, TX, Juanita Blanton and husband Dave of Beeville, TX and Mary Elizabeth Blair and husband Charles of Alpine, TX; brothers, Lawrence Rayburn and wife Ann of Vienna, VA and Ernest David Rayburn of Aledo, TX; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. 
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.R. Rayburn; and sister, Hazel Louise Rayburn.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at First Baptist Church, 4309 Main St, Rowlett, TX, with Dr. Steven P. Leatherwood officiating. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2011, in Roscoe Cemetery in Roscoe, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Rest Haven Funeral Home in Rowlett.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.
