Joy Witt

Joy Witt, Born Oct. 10, 1941, in Sweetwater, passed away Nov. 17, 2010, in Lubbock after a long battle with cancer. Joy was a life-long student; she graduated from Sweetwater High School and Trinity University in San Antonio. While living in Santa Fe, NM, Joy attended Santa Fe Community College, she took classes in sculpture at Loveland Academy of Fine Arts and Scottsdale Artists School. While Joy was married to Canadian sculptor, Peter Rice-Jones, she lived with the Cree Indians near Edmonton, Alberta.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Violet Witt of Sweetwater. She is survived by a sister, Annalee Schubert, of Lubbock.
