Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Juan Guajardo Villa, 84, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Father Charles Okonkwo will officiate and interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
Villa died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
He was born May 27, 1929, in Sweetwater. He married Adelaida Landeros on July 2, 1950, in Colorado City.
Juan was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He retired from Rolling Plains Compress after 35 years of working there. He loved spending time with family and friends, landscaping, watching Spanish soap operas on TV and going to church. Juan was a loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include his daughter, Lupe Peña and husband Johnny of Sweetwater; son, Johnny Villa and wife Janie of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Aaron Peña, Jennifer Peña, John Villa and Beth Villa; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Peña, Devin Peña and Aeson Peña; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Adelaida Villa, on Feb. 7, 2007.
Pallbearers are Richard Bell, Rosenvelt Duran, Aaron Peña, John Carreon Villa, Manuel Guzman and Rodney Rivera.
