JV girls golfers 3rd at Abilene

Sweetwater High School’s junior varsity girls golf team shot a one-day 394 total to finish third overall and second among JV teams at a 10-team tournament played March 8 in Abilene.
Sweetwater’s 394 was just one shot higher than Abil-ene Cooper JV’s 393. Also, Sweetwater’s No. 2 JV team placed fifth with a 411 total.
Sophomore Amy Witt, a member of the No. 2 team, shot a 92 to place second among all JV players.
Angela Virgen (94), Leila Rubio (95), Rachel Hunt (96), Christian Richardson (99) and Haylee Stewart (110) were the members of Sweetwater’s No. 1 JV team while Witt, Sierra Hernan-dez (104), Molly Fincher (105), Rachel Gray (110) and Caroline Lawrence (110) were on the No. 2 team.
Tatum Maxwell (126) and Michallah McKinney (135) played as JV medalists for Sweetwater.
