JV girls lose to Aspermont

Sweetwater JV girls basketball coverage

Sweetwater’s JV girls basketball team got in one final non-district game on Friday. The Lady Mustangs traveled to Aspermont and lost to its varsity team, 53-43, after trailing by just two points at the end of three quarters.
Sweetwater (12-4) stayed close until the final period as Aspermont led just 16-14, 34-30 and 38-36 at the breaks. Claire Williams had 12 points, Larissa Locklar nine and Maddie Jones eight, including a 3-pointer, for Sweetwater, which with the varsity and freshman girls start district Tuesday at Snyder. Also scoring were Kayla Chowning with six points, Mikki Reschman four and Shaneese Brown and Taylor McPherson two.
