Sweetwater’s JV baseball team won against Jim Ned and Abilene High in recent action at Newman Park.
Sweetwater beat Jim Ned 11-3 on March 17 and out-scored Abilene High 16-6 on March 24.
Hayden Reeves went 4-for-4 with a triple, and he and Daven Alvarez scored three runs to pace Sweetwa-ter’s victory over Jim Ned. Also hitting safely were J.P. Poe, Alvarez, Mike McCoy, Sean Norman and Isaiah McGee. Duanta Williams threw a seven-inning complete game with five strikeouts for the win.
Sweetwater never trailed against Abilene after a nine-run first inning. Once again, Reeves led the way with four hits while Bray Amos had three and Alvarez had two doubles. Reeves had four RBI and Poe and Amos three. Sweetwater pitched Poe (4.1) and Reeves (1.2).
