JV romps 46-0, but freshmen are beaten by G’wood

Sweetwater’s junior var-sity team cruised to a 46-0 home win on Thursday over Greenwood as the Mustangs remained undefeated (2-0) in district and are now 5-1 for the season.
Max Gomez threw for six touchdowns, four of them to Michael Green and two to Hunter Mobley, who also returned an interception for a score. Other defensive standouts for Sweetwater, which allowed just one first down, were Adrian Vizzer-ra, Keegan Von Atzigen and Colby Greenwood.
Also, Branson Guelker played well on the offensive line and was able to finish the game after dislocating a finger.
Greenwood 31, SW freshmen 14
Sweetwater’s freshmen fell to 0-2 in district (3-3 overall) with their defeat.
Jordan McGee scored on a 60-yard run and threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Peyton Hill, while getting a 2-point run as well. Dylan Ausborn, Javier Olguin, Tristan Vasquez, Dylan Heiskell, Garrett Davison, Robert King and Junior Lawhon were other offensive standouts and Davison (fumble recovery), Olguin (sack), Hill (pass breakup), Hunter Thielen, Matt Fig-ueroa, Nathan Browning and Luis Vasquez were de-fensive standouts against Greenwood.
