JV team loses its opener

September 4, 2013

Sweetwater’s throwing-passing combination of Max Gomez and Michael Lawrence hooked up for a total of three touchdowns, but Sweetwater’s JV lost to Eastland 46-24 in its sea-son opener this past Thurs-day at Mustang Bowl.
In addition to Lawrence, J’Corey Amos and Sean Norman had multiple catch-es for Sweetwater and also did a great job in the return game, said Sweetwater JV coach Chris Carruthers. In addition, Carruthers said Denzell Moore and Adrian Vizzerra ran the ball well and played great defensively, while C.J. Adames and Braxton Kinney did a great job up front and played hard the entire night.
Sweetwater’s JV will stay home this Thursday to host Andrews at 6:30 p.m.
