Karen (Bunn) Rainey

Funeral services for Karen (Bunn) Rainey, 61, of Fisher County, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014 at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Reverend Keith Clower will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at McCoy Funeral Home.
Rainey died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in Fisher County, Texas.
She was born Oct. 29, 1952, in Ranger, Texas. She married A.L. “Rock” Rainey on March 8, 1974 in Fisher County.
Karen and her family moved to Sweetwater from Ranger in 1957. She was a graduate of Sweetwater High School in 1971. She then graduated from Bauder Fashion College in the Ft. Worth area with an Associate’s Degree. She was the office manager for the TV cable company in Sweetwater from 1976 until 1993. She recently worked for the City of Snyder in the water department as a water meter technician. Karen wore the hats of many trades and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a friend to many. Her passion was animals of all types, as was her mother’s.
Survivors include her husband, Rock Rainey of Sweetwater; son, B.D. Rainey and Amber Shirley of Sweetwater; father, H.D. Bunn of Sweetwater; sisters, Kay Whitworth of Sweetwater and Kristi Holland of Blackwell; grandsons, Dustin Barnes, Tate Rainey and Kyler Rainey; step grandchildren, Kyler Covington and Kaige Covington; great-grandson, Tayce Barnes; and Curry Bewley of Sweetwater who Karen considered a second son.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Deloris (Woods) Bunn, on Dec. 31, 2000.
Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Grimes, Wayne Jamar, Terry Henson, Arthur Maberry, Kenneth Dudensing and Bill Neely.
