A graveside service for Kenneth Crow, 77, of Roscoe, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011, at Sweetwater Cemetery with Jason Olton and Ted Posey officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Crow died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, in Midland.
He was born Feb. 10, 1934, in Rotan, Fisher County, Texas. He married Willie Arpe on Sept. 26, 2004, in Abilene. He was a member of Roby Church of Christ. He was raised in Rotan and graduated from Rotan High School and received an Associate's degree from Western Texas College in Applied Science. He also was recognized by the Master Detective Magazine as one of America's outstanding guardians of the law in 1983 while working as a criminal investigator for the 32nd Judicial District Attorney's Office in Sweetwater. He also received a plaque for his service as a board member and chairman of the investigator's section of Texas District and County Attorneys Association 1984-1987. He also had worked for the Sweetwater Police Department and the Nolan County Sheriff's Office. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a past member of the Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #571 and Sweetwater Lions Club. He was a life long resident of Nolan and Fisher Counties.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Arpe Crow of Roscoe; daughter, Angela Vest and husband Jerry of Florida; brother, Billy Crow and wife Sue of Brownwood; several step children; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie W. and Mamie (Lambert) Crow; and siblings, Alvin Crow, Don Leta Teel Cokenour, Irene Watson, Florence Lambert, Lois Teague, Tellula Lightfoot and Calvin Crow.
