First Baptist Church announces opening of Koinonia Coffee shop on Sunday, September 9

First Baptist Church announced the opening of Koinonia Coffee. The coffee shop opened last Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, with fresh ground coffee and homemade tea cakes in the newly remodeled Welcome Center on the corner of Third and Elm Streets.
Koinonia Coffee was originally planned with the remodel of the Education Building and is now beginning to take form and develop in its ministry to the community. The Welcome Center of First Baptist Church houses Koinonia Coffee and is a warm and friendly atmosphere to meet with friends and enjoy some great coffee and food.
Phillip Thomas, Pastor of FBC, says, “We are excited to have Koinonia Coffee open and serving the community. Our desire is to see the Coffee Shop grow and eventually be open more hours during the week along with other plans for future development.”
“The coffee is great and I really enjoyed talking with friends, and the coffee shop is so bright and welcoming with the flowers and picture,” said one of the first Koinonia Coffee customers, “I will be back next Sunday.”
Koinonia Coffee is still in the early stages of ministry, but is currently open at 8 a.m. every Sunday morning, with plans to open more often during the week in the future.
