On Monday, Sept. 12, afternoon television in the Big Country will get a lot more local when KTAB launches KTAB 4u. Hosted by KTAB’s Alex Hayes, KTAB 4u is a 30-minute locally produced lifestyle program that will focus on women’s issues.
“I can’t tell you how many times local businesses have asked to be interviewed. KTAB 4 will give us an opportunity to interview local businesses which in turn will give them the chance to communicate to the local consumers in a way that has not been done before in the Big Country,” said KTAB General Manager Eric Thomas.
KTAB 4u content will focus on lifestyle information to help our viewers live better lives. KTAB 4u segments will include stories and interviews on health and wellness, personal finance, and family living. KTAB 4u will also spend time bringing you the latest in fashion, entertainment, and the best local dining.
“This show will highlight some of the areas that are often underserved at the local level,” said KTAB News Director Austin Kellerman. “The show will focus on issues in areas our audience has told us they’re interested.”
"We're creating a fun, interactive broadcast our viewers can really take part in," said KTAB 4u host Alex Hayes. "We'll go in depth with all the topics that our viewers genuinely care about, whether it is light hearted or serious in nature. And the best part is, our viewers will have the chance to respond through social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook."
The 4 p.m. start also gives KTAB a jump start on reporting the day’s top local news headlines along with the very latest weather information.
“This is not a traditional news broadcast,” Kellerman adds. “We’ll have short local news headlines and the weather. However, the focus of “KTAB 4u” is to bring our viewers relevant lifestyle content in a format without time constraints.”
"This is an exciting show to be a part of," said Hayes, "It’ll have everything from entertainment, dining, finances, fashion, and who knows what other surprises we'll throw into the mix. This show is one you won't want to miss!"
KTAB 4u can be seen Monday through Friday from 4-4:30 p.m. on KTAB beginning Sept. 12. It will be followed by one of the Big Country’s most-watched game shows Jeopardy.
