Sweetwater softball results

After averaging eight runs in its first two district games and scoring 19 in an easy win over Crane on Friday, a high-scoring Sweetwater softball team entertained first-place Brownwood here Tuesday with a chance to really make a statement.
But the Lady Lions were the only ones scoring runs, while competely shutting down Sweetwater’s offense to win, 8-0, at the Jerry Collins Softball Complex.
Brownwood (3-0 district) broke the game open with a four-run third inning to open up a 6-0 lead, and added single tallies in the fourth and fifth. Sweetwater (1-2 district) failed to score despite hits by Suede Shir-ley, Kendra Crosson, Tay-lor McKoy, Kinsey Brown-ing, Keyli Turner and Jerren Villa. Sweetwater will host Snyder at 7 p.m. Friday.
