Lady Mustangs top Lake View to go 2-0

SAN ANGELO — Sweet-water jumped out to a 13-2 lead after one quarter and coasted to a 45-28 win over San Angelo Lake View in varsity girls basketball act-ion on Friday.The win was the second straight for the Lady Mustangs, who began their season Tuesday by beating Highland 42-37.Suede Shirley, who missed the team’s opener due to injury, paced Sweetwater with 17 points including three 3-pointers while Kelsi Crosson had 16. Sweetwater led 19-10 at halftime, and extended its lead to 32-18 after three periods. Shelby Cason had six points, Kendra Crosson four and Kath-leen Campbell two. Sweet-water is back on the road to face Wichita Falls Hirschi on Tuesday, before hosting Abilene High this Friday.
