The Sweetwater volleyball team goes to Wylie for its last District 5-4A match on Saturday, but may have to wait longer that that to know if it will make it into postseason play.
The Lady Mustangs (3-4) moved up from fourth place to third place in the district standings after beating Big Spring 3-1 on Tuesday.
Wylie (6-0) has already clinched the district’s No. 1 playoff seed with two games left, but the other three spots are still undecided.
Sweetwater can secure a playoff berth by beating Wylie if Brownwood (3-3) also beats Snyder (2-4) this weekend. Big Spring (2-5), which is off this weekend, is also still in the hunt for a playoff berth in the five-team district.
Sweetwater ends its regular season next Tuesday when it hosts Monahans in a non-district matchup.
Sweetwater has a tiebreaker advantage over Big Spring, which it defeated in both district matches. The Lady Mustangs split with Snyder and lost both games against Brownwood.
