Lady Stangs travel to Post after 9-7 loss

The Sweetwater softball team saw its record fall to 6-5 heading into a weekend tournament at Post after losing a 9-7 decision at Colorado City Tuesday.
Sweetwater had over twice as many hits (15) as Colorado City, but never led in the contest due in part to baserunning and fielding errors as well as pitching wildness, said coach Steve Roberts.
Kelsi Crosson led the offense by going 4-for-4 with a double while Alicia Finn had three hits and Suede Shirley (triple), Angela Garza and Kendra Crosson had two each.
Finn, Taylor McKoy and Maty Montgomery all took the mound with McKoy (5 1/3 innings, 5 strikeouts) getting the lion’s share of the work.
