Large grass fire at Lake Sweetwater

A fire near Lake Sweetwater is 100 percent contained this morning thanks to the rain Nolan County received last night. Approximately 100 acres burned.
The grass fire began Wednesday afternoon when an electrical line shorted with the high winds near a residence. The fire spread quickly through a field with the high winds.
Assisting were Lake Sweetwater Volunteer Fire Department (VFD), Trent VFD, Sweetwater Fire Department, Nolan VFD, Mulberry Canyon VFD, Roscoe VFD, the Texas Forest Service and Nolan County Commissioners.
