April 19, 2013

Dear Editor,
My name is Corbett Carlile. My twin brother was killed by drunk driver Gustavo Cervantes on Nov. 23, in Nolan County. The grand jury is supposed to indict him today. He was given a $20,000 dollar bond which he posted quickly and has been free on bail for the last four months. Cory was a father of five kids. Ages ranged from 19 to 9. They miss him and so do I and so does his mother. This has just about destroyed us all. And we want justice, although the petty sentence he gets will never bring Cory back. How many people have to die before our state and country does something more to hold these people accountable? If I got drunk and shot someone I would be locked in jail for life. Drunk drivers' cars are like loaded guns, taking lives everyday and getting petty sentences for killing others everyday.
Sincerely
Corbett Carlile
