Several area fourth through sixth grade students tried out some fun experiments led by the staff at the County-City Library on Wednesday, June 13, 2012.
Mayra Garcia and Erica Caballero — "mad scientists" — led the students in the experiments. Garcia is shown helping the students in the magic writing experiment in which the students wrote with lemon juice on paper. They could not see the writing until iodine was put on the paper and made the "ink" show through.
The students also participated in the experiment called "shapely," in which three sheets of paper were folded into different shapes (square, triangle, circle) to see which shape could hold the most books.
