Lifters are 1st

The Sweetwater High School boys and girls powerlifting teams both placed first in their divi-sions at meets held last Thursday in Big Spring.
For the boys, individu-al winners were Donald Baker (950 pounds) in the 148-pound class, Ryan Linebaugh (1,200) in the 165-pound class, Sam Nemir (1,300) in the 181-pound class, Alex Garcia (1,165) in the 198-pound class and Mateo Gonzales (1,405) in the 242-pound class. Also, Linebaugh received the Best Lifter Award.
Also placing were Ken-dall Rea, who was second in the 220-pound class (1,090); Jonathan Browning, third in the 132-pound class (725); Austin Marlett, fifth in the 148-pound class (855); Steven Le, fifth in the 181-pound class (910); Angel Caballero, fifth in the 275-pound class (1,085); Zach Gar-cia, seventh in the 181-pound class (780); and Donato Garcia, eighth in the 275-pound class (840). Kyle Lambert also competed at the meet.
For the girls, individu-al winners were Alexis Thompson in the 105-pound class, Cari Aguilar in the 132-pound class, Dana Hohn in the 165-pound class and Loni Mendez in the 181-pound class. Also placing were Valerie Zavaleta, second in the 114-pound class; Lexie Perez, second in the 181-pound class; Jos-lyn Rosas, second in the 198-pound class; and Kimmie Lomas, third in the 132-pound class. Individual totals for the girls were not available.
