Lions Club to host 4th of July Parade

Celebrate Independence Day in Sweetwater at the Annual Lions Club 4th of July Parade on Friday, July 4, beginning at 10 a.m.
Those who wish to participate in the parade are asked to begin lining up along the 200 block of Ash Street at 9:30 a.m. The parade will then begin at 10 a.m. Parade viewers can watch as the parade makes its way south on Ash Street to Broadway, then east on Broadway to turn onto Elm Street, where it will head towards Newman Park. The parade will then come to its end in the Nolan County Coliseum parking lot.
Parade onlookers and participants can then stay at Newman Park and enjoy a free concert put on by the Sweetwater Municipal Band at the Pavilion in the park. Bring your lawn chairs and water to drink.
The local Boy Scouts will perform a flag-raising ceremony during this time as well.
