Local leadership program featured at seminar
Texas Midwest Community Network (TMCN) recently held a seminar for TMCN member cities. The seminar “How to Create a Local Leadership Program” was attended by representatives from 12 communities throughout the region.Leadership Sweetwater and Leadership Hamilton were selected as examples to emulate. Instruction and information shared at the seminar was provided by Jacque McCoy of Sweetwater and Jane Crouch of Hamilton.Leadership development has been identified by the TMCN Executive Committee as a primary need in the 26 country region of the organization. The group determined that the best way to bring awareness to the need is to showcase successful programs already being conducted,Texas Midwest Community Network is a regional organization for community and economic development, regional promotion, education and legislative awareness. It is an organization of “communities working together to accomplish what one community cannot do alone.” TMCN sponsors networking events during the year and projects to market the region for business and tourism development.
