Local Love’s to open Microtel in Sweetwater

August 5, 2014

Love’s Travel Stops is expanding its business plan to include the hospitality business.
Love’s has built their first Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Pecos, Texas. This property opened in the spring of 2014. Love’s second location is in Sweetwater. The Sweetwater project has broken ground and is expected to be open in early spring of 2015.
This property will be a 64 room unit with amenities such as free Wi-Fi, local and long distance phone calls within the Continental US, SKY hospitality Hot & Hearty breakfast and more. Guestrooms will feature flat-panel HD TVs, free HBO, coffee makers, refrigerators, microwaves, hairdryers and much more.
Love’s Travel Stops was started by Tom and Judy Love in 1964 in Watonga, Oklahoma. They currently have more than 300 locations in 39 states and employ over 10,000 people. The Sweetwater Microtel location is next door to the new Love’s Travel Stop location (opened in March 2013) west of Sweetwater on I-20 and includes an Arby’s Restaurant.
“Love’s Travel Stops has a long history of serving interstate travelers. We’re introducing another aspect of highway hospitality by entering into the hotel business,” stated Kevin McCarthy, Director of Special Project’s for Love’s Travel Stops.
