Local teams end season at district L-League tourneys

The Dodgers were the first place team in the Minor League this season. The team will play Wylie No. 3 at 8 p.m. Monday at Abilene’s Dixie field to begin their District 5 tournament. Six Sweetwater teams end their season at area District 5 Little League tournaments starting Monday.
The Dodgers, who won the Minor League for ages 9-10, play Wylie No. 3 at 8 p.m. Monday at Abilene Dixie while the RiverDogs, the Minor League runner-ups, play the Snyder Cubs at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wylie.
Sweetwater’s two repres-entatives for Major League (11-12) were to be decided on Friday. The No. 1 team plays Abilene Southern’s Yankees at 8 p.m. Monday at Snyder. The No. 2 team plays Snyder’s Braves with their first game slated to begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Snyder.
Sweetwater also has two teams in the Junior League (13-14) division.
Sweetwater No. 1 plays Snyder’s Yankees at 8 p.m. Monday with the game in Snyder. Prior to that game, Sweetwater No. 2 will play Snyder’s Astros at 6 p.m. in Snyder. Sweetwater will not have a Senior League team.
