Loraine resident opens church

March 15, 2012

Dearl Messick of Loraine will be opening the Followers of Jesus Christ church at 922 Poplar in Sweetwater this Sunday morning at 10 a.m.

A new church is opening in Sweetwater, and its leader is inviting everyone to learn more about it. This Sunday, March 18, 2012, the Followers of Jesus Christ will be meeting in their facilities at 922 Roscoe, on the corner of Roscoe and Poplar in Sweetwater (the former New Life Tabernacle).
Dearl Messick, the church's founder, is a resident of Loraine employed with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Along with being the pastor of the church, he has also written a book.
Messick says that his church differs from other places of worship in that baptism is not required to join the church. He says that this church is the type of church where questions can be asked and open communication is welcomed.
Service times are Sundays at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m., where one combined service is offered for everyone. Messick welcomes everyone to come and join them this Sunday to learn more about the church and the opportunities offered by the church.
For more information about the Followers of Jesus Christ, call Messick at 325-737-2648.
