Man jailed for sexual assault

Several have recently entered pleas during 32nd Judicial District Court proceedings.
Gary Lynn Thomas pleaded guilty to sexual assault, a second degree felony. Thomas was sentenced to eight years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and was also ordered to pay a $500 fine, $782 in court costs and $2,100 in attorney's fees. He will also have to register as a sex offender. Thomas will receive 292 days credit towards his sentence for time already served in jail.
Steven Bernard Renfro pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, namely tetrahydrocannabinol, a state jail felony. For his plea, Renfro was sentenced to 18 months confinement in the State Jail Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine, $423 in court costs, $500 in attorney's fees and $140 in restitution to the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory in Abilene. He will receive 166 days credit towards his sentence for time already served in jail.
Michael Terrell Thomas pleaded guilty to tampering with physical evidence, a third degree felony. He was sentenced to eight years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, probated for three years. He will also have to pay a $2,000 fine, $348 in court costs and $500 in attorney's fees. He will also have to serve 160 hours of community service and 30 days of up-front jail time.
Bradley Barrett Bishop pleaded guilty to theft under $1,500 with two prior convictions, a state jail felony. Bishop was sentenced to 15 months confinement in the State Jail Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He will also have to pay a $500 fine, $348 in court costs, $500 in attorney's fees and restitution in the amount of $700 to Jason Blueford and $2,367.96 to Tractor Supply. He will receive 205 days credit towards his sentence for time already served in jail.
