The Manafest Spring Tour is coming to Sweetwater and will be playing at 7 p.m. on Monday at the Municipal Auditorium.
The tour will be bringing in internationally known rock and rap artist Manafest, Superchick lead singer Tricia Brock, Je’Kob and David Dunn.
Manafest is a very well known artist within the Christian rock and rap world. His music can be heard on local radio stations such as Air 1, and the tour coming through Sweetwater is expected to be a great thing for young people in the community.
On Manafest's website, he states, “I’m always there to give you the don’t give up message…faith in God has helped me through a lot.”
First United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church and Emmanuel Fellowship Church are sponsoring the concert, and tickets can be purchased at any of the three churches, or at the door the night of the concert. Tickets are $5 each. "We want to get as many people there as possible," said event organizers.
Stephen Gehring, youth pastor at First United Methodist Church said, “The youth minister’s alliance is committed to doing whatever we can to make this community a place where our students don’t feel like they have to go to Abilene or Dallas to experience things like Fields of Faith or big name Christian artists. We want to bring that kind of stuff here.”
Youth pastor at Emmanuel Fellowship Church, Loran Rule, added, “We are stoked to bring such well known Christian artists as Manafest and Tricia Brock to Sweetwater. Our hope is that this concert will provide the community with an evening of incredible music and an inspiring message of hope.”
“We are hoping to pack the place out,” says Tique Hamilton, youth pastor at First Baptist Church. “These guys are awesome, and we can’t wait for Sweetwater to get to experience their music.”
The concert is open to people of all ages. With the different bands representing genres of rap, rock, pop and worship, people of all different musical tastes should enjoy the show.
Sponsors include Richard Ferguson State Farm, Doug Sitter State Farm, DMI, Lawrence Management Service, the Medicine Place and Texas National Bank.
