Manda Shed

Manda Shed, 90, of Gatesville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012.
A graveside service for Shed was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at Toby Cemetery in Oakalla, Texas with Ernest Spiekerman and Charles McKamie officiating.
Manda Shed (Whitehead) was born April 18, 1921, in Marble Falls, Texas to Henry and Minerva (Smith) Whitehead, the youngest of nine children. She married Hobb Shed on March 12, 1938, thereafter being a loving wife and partner. Their lives were filled with ranching, hunting and friends. As a lifelong Texan, she found time to follow a family tradition and master Texas 42 and dominoes. She devoted her life to sharing her love with her children, grandchildren and friends.
Manda was a very precious lady that won the hearts of all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by many friends and family members whose lives were touched and forever changed by her love and warmth. She was preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings; and her husband of 61 years, Hobb Shed.
She is survived by her son, Clint Shed and wife Lois of Belton; daughters, Alice Rhoades of Sweetwater and Mazella Vardeman and husband Dennis of Blum; nine grandchildren, including Ajuan Fritz and James Rhoades and wife Dana of Sweetwater; 17 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
