Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Maria M. Guerrero, 87, of Gail, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Joe Uecker officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 23, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, recited by Connie Palacios and Pauline Gauna.
Guerrero died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. She was born June 30, 1924, in Weimer, Texas. She married Carlos S. Guerrero. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include five daughters, Maria Elena Guerrero of Bakersfield, California, Juanita Guerrero of Corpus Christi, TX, Rosalia Garza of Converse, TX, Ylia Guerrero and fiancé Leandra Gray of Gail, TX and Virginia Guerrero of Sweetwater, TX; four sons, Rudolfo Morales of Bay City, Michigan, Carlos Guerrero, Jr. and wife Adriana of Alice, TX, Marcos Guerrero and wife Maria of El Paso, TX and Jose David Guerrero of Wilton Manors, Florida; three sisters, Betty Torres of Albuquerque, NM, Ruperta Gonzalez of Roscoe, TX and Elvira Olvera of Roscoe, TX; two brothers, Moises Morales of Eagle Lake, TX and Jesse Morales of Friona, TX; 21 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Guerrero on March 5, 1983; a daughter, Maria Guerrero on June 3, 1945; three brothers, Concho, Jr., Albert and Jimmy Morales; and one sister, Biatris Morales.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
