Marjorie Thompson Broman

Marjorie Thompson Broman, 82, passed away on Oct. 28, 2013 as a result of Alzheimer’s.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1931 in Sweetwater, Tex. to E.H. and Minnie Puckett Thompson. She was predeceased by her loving husband, William (Bill) Henry Broman, Sr., who she married on Nov. 17, 1956.
After graduating from Newman High School in Sweetwater, she worked for Texas Children’s Welfare and then for Shell Oil Company before marrying Bill. Over the years, they lived in: Roswell and Hobbs, N.M., Midland and Houston, Tex. and New Orleans, La. She was active in the Lutheran Church and was a charter member of Kinsmen and Hosanna Churches in Houston and Spirit of Joy in The Woodlands.
She is survived by her children, Bill Jr., John, Karen and Paul; daughters-in-law, Theresa and Stephanie; son-in-law Ted Vlamis; sister-in-law Ann Getoor; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were on Friday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m. at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church (7550 Crownridge Dr., The Woodlands, TX, 77382). Visitation was on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 1-3 p.m. at Forest Park The Woodlands. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Social Services of the South (www.lsss.org).
