Funeral services for Martha Allene DeBusk, 99, of Lubbock, formerly of Sweetwater, will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Rev. Chris Stephens will be officiating with interment to follow at Sweetwater Cemetery, under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until service time at McCoy Funeral Home.
DeBusk died Saturday, July 1, 2012, at Hospitality House Nursing Home in Lubbock.
She was born July 11, 1912 in Palava, Texas. She married Roy H. DeBusk on August 1, 1931, in Sweetwater. She graduated from nursing school as an LVN in 1957 and worked several years as a nurse. She then became a beautician and operated "Unique Beauty Salon" in Sweetwater for many years until her retirement. She worked with her husband, Roy, for many years in the ministry at the Church of God in Sweetwater.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Darlene Long of Lubbock; son, William Lee Roy DeBusk and wife Zana of Carson City, NV; sisters, Bennie Nipper and husband Oscar of Houston and Zella Cox of Waco; daughter-in-law, Gayle DeBusk of Houston; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy DeBusk; a son, Paul Carroll DeBusk; five sisters; and one brother.
Pallbearers will be Bill Long, Butch Castner, Joseph Castner, Mike Hollers, Chad Brannan and Brian Long.
