A memorial service for Marvin Doyle Bailey, 68, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Steve Davis officiating. He was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Bailey died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at University Hospital in Lubbock.
He was born Dec. 17, 1941, in Quanah, Texas. He had worked for Jolley Well Service as a pulling unit operator and had also worked for Basic Energy. Bailey was a Baptist and had lived in Sweetwater most of his life.
Survivors include two sons, Jaimie Bailey of Tampa, Fla. and Randy Bailey of Sweetwater; daughter, Marvetta Grant and husband Larry of Coleman; sisters, Marie Jones and husband Gary of Lubbock and Rachel Roley and husband Eddie of Sweetwater; brothers, Archie Bailey of Sweetwater and William Bailey of Snyder; six grandchildren; his children's mother, Rachael Bailey of Sweetwater; and a host of nieces and nephews.
