Funeral services for Mary Helen (Nunn) Hendrix, 66, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Brian Brownlow officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Hendrix died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
She was born April 23, 1945, in Sweetwater. Mary Helen moved to Sweetwater in 2003 from Amarillo where she had worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a secretary from 1983 until 2003. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Sweetwater. She was a graduate of Roby High School and Texas State Technical Institute with an Associate's degree. She was also a volunteer at Baptist Saint Anthony's Hospital for eight years.
Survivors include her daughter, Monica Whiddon and husband Steve of Sweetwater; son, Michael Hendrix and wife Melanie of Amarillo; brother, Charlie Joe Nunn and wife Candy of Sweetwater; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bodie Hill, Wade Etheredge, Marty Wells, Kelly Cummings, Jerry Proffitt and Caleb Whiddon.
