Melton E. Kiddy

Melton E. Kiddy, age 74. passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, in Arlington, Texas. Mel was born June 23, 1937 in Dallas, Texas to the late Ernest and Willie Mae Kiddy. He married Linda Darden June 8, 1965.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda of Arlington; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kimberly Kiddy of Arlington; and two granddaughters; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Wilson and husband Ed of Midland, Texas; brother-in-law, Sonny Darden and wife Virginia of Eastland, Texas; two nephews, Ray Darden and Tiffni and Wally Bruce and Brenda of Mississippi; three nieces, J’Lyn Wilson of Midland, Texas, Brenda Bodwee and Shaw of Mississippi and Linda Bruce of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Billy Bruce.
Mel was raised in the Love Field area of Dallas, Texas, working for Pride Refining for 18 years and then retiring from the State of Texas, Snyder Prison unit. He had also served in the military for 22 years.
Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, from 6-8:00 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at Lone Wolf Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Brown officiating. McCoy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the scholarship fund at St. Barnabas United Methodist Church, 5011 Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington, Texas 76016 (817- 483-1667).
A memorial service will be held at a later date, in Arlington, Texas, at St. Barnabas United Methodist Church, where Mel is a member.
