After almost four years of being closed, Mi Familias Mexican restaurant, located on the corner of Alabama and Sam Houston Streets, has reopened its doors to the community.
Owner Adam Gomez says that on his grand opening day on Tuesday, it was like he had never closed. "My former customers were very happy to see me. It reminded me of how much I enjoyed doing this and how much I missed my customers."
Gomez said that on his last day of business almost four years ago, that the restaurant sold out of everything. "We couldn't even make you a bean burrito the last 15 minutes that we were open."
Today the restaurant offers a variety of breakfast burritos, lunch plates and menudo and tamales on Saturday and Sunday. They are open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
