Middle school grid teams win, tie vs. Big Spring

SMS football results

In middle school football action this past Tuesday, Sweetwater eighth grade teams got a win and a tie against Big Spring. How-ever, both seventh grade teams lost at Big Spring.
Both of the seventh grade teams host Snyder Tuesday while the two eighth grade squads are at Snyder.
At Sweetwater
8TH GRADE RED 23,
BIG SPRING 12
Adrian Vizzerra was great on both sides of the ball for Sweetwater Red, catching scoring passes of 15 and 20 yards from Max Gomez and also scoring on a 40-yard interception return.
Michael Hunt was 3-for-3 on extra point kicks, and Sweetwater Red also scored a second-half safety by sacking the Big Spring quarter-back in the end zone.
8TH GRADE
WHITE 22,
BIG SPRING 22
Deshaun Williams had scoring runs of 70 and 25 yards for Sweetwater White and Isaiah Gonzales scored the other TD on a 20-yard run. Also, Gonzales threw to Adan Sanchez for a 2-point conversion and Williams ran for another two points.
At Big Spring
BIG SPRING 48,
7TH GRADE RED 16
Jacoby Hunt had two TD runs for Sweetwater Red as he scored on jaunts of 89 and 25 yards. Hunt also had a two-point conversion run and Jordan McGee threw to Matt Figueroa for another two-point conversion, as well as completing a pass to Daniel Olguin.
The defensive standouts were Jeffrey Ausborn (interception and tackle for loss), Junior Lawhon, Hunt, Figueroa, McGee (tackle for loss), Gaiden Crelia (tackle for loss) and Olguin.
BIG SPRING 26,
7TH GRADE
WHITE 14
Lowell Williams scored on a pair of 1-yard runs for Sweetwater White and also ran for a 2-point conversion. On defense, Williams recovered two fumbles, returning one for a touchdown that was called back. Also, Jonathan Parker and Isaac Currie recovered fumbles.
