Minnie Ola Franklin, 90 years young, a long time resident of Sweetwater, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, in Odessa, Texas. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Reverend E.D. Ingram officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Born to the late Josephine and Hal Taylor in Calvert, Texas on Oct. 15, 1923. Mrs. Franklin came to Sweetwater in the late 1960s. She was a long time member of the Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Bennie Hunt of Odessa; two sons, Tommy Franklin and wife Elizabeth of Cleburne and James Franklin and wife April of North Richland Hills; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Franklin is preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Hal Taylor; her son, Ruben Franklin; two brothers, Eugene Gilbert and Charlie Brown; and three sisters, Evelyn Walker, Mabell McCann and Mattie Sapp.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Franklin, James Franklin, Larry Sapp, Joe Sapp, Sammy Sapp, Arthur Love, Chris McCann and Don Grover.
