The 2nd Annual Bike Ride for Missions recently made a stop in Sweetwater at Sonic Drive-in on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
The ride helps to raise money for the missions program at New Life Temple in Abilene. The missions program supports missionaries from all over the world, from foreign to domestic missionaries and their causes.
Ezequiel Pecina, pastor at New Life Temple, added, "We also support local and nation wide ministries that help people that may be in need. We have our local Abilene Dream Center that is a 9-12 month discipleship program that helps men and women with addictions to overcome them."
The two-day Bike Ride for Missions begins in the early morning hours in Lubbock and concludes in Abilene with a celebration at the church, which is the kickoff of New Life Temple's annual missions festival.
The missions festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the New Life Temple in Abilene from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be music and a number of booths offering food, displays and information of the missionaries.
People at the booth will even be dressed in cultural clothing of the country they represent. The public is invited to come to the mission festival to enjoy a great time.
While the riders stopped at Sonic, the restaurant sponsored lunch for the bike riders.
"We appreciate these riders for their contribution," praised Pastor Pecina.
