Morales qualifies for state

Jacinda Morales of Roscoe placed sixth among individual regional runners Saturday to qualify for the Class 1A girls state cross country meet.

ARLINGTON — Ros-coe’s Jacinda Morales placed sixth among individual regional runners Saturday to qualify for the Class 1A girls state cross country meet.
Morales’ regional time was 12:37.24. The state meet will be held this Saturday at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
Highland and Roscoe were seventh and eighth, respectively, in the team competition. The top three teams and 10 individuals qualify for state competition. Roscoe’s other runners were Amber Craig, Mirian Solis, Whitney Williams, Crystal Luna, Alura Renteria and Torrey Willman. The runners for Highland’s team were Lora Stew-art, Sierra Allen, Mad-ison Moseley, Taylor Hammond, Beth Rich-burg, Sabrina Romero and Megan Thompson.
Sheldon Hall ran for the Highland boys at the regional meet.
