Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Nell Griffin, 87, of Alexander City, will be Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2 p.m., at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home.
Bro. Miles Crouch and Bro. John David Parker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Griffin passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Russell Medical Center. She was born on December 28, 1923 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Roland Bell Baker and Mary Elizabeth Matthews Baker. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. She worked as a winder at Russell Corp. for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking, bird feeding and watching TV, especially The Andy Griffith Show.
She is survived by her children, Juliaette Davis (James) of Alexander City, Dorothy Clark of Alexander City, Carlene Kamer (Sam) of Sweetwater, TX, Joseph Randall Flournoy (Buffy) of Alexander City and Venetia Williams (Kenneth) of Griffin, GA; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; seventeen great great grandchildren; two step grandsons; two step grandaughters; one step great granddaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Ellis Flournoy; grandchildren, Timothy Lorraine Clark, Beverly Diane Clark Kamer and Matthew Neal Clark; six brothers and six sisters.
