Mustang Moms hosting Tailgate Party

August 25, 2011

Mustang Moms to host Tailgate Party Friday night, August 26 before the season opener against Vernon

Mustang Moms will be holding a Tailgate Party before the football game against Vernon on Friday, Aug. 26, from 5:30-6:20 p.m. During this time, Little Mustangs will be able to pick up their Adopt-a-Mustang t-shirt and picture button. Juice pouches, chips and snacks will be handed out along with t-shirts and buttons. Mustang Moms are asking that the Little Mustangs show up at the track parking lot promptly at 5:30 p.m. as there are 44 t-shirts and buttons to be passed out.
After each Little Mustang has their t-shirt and button, they will enter the game from the track, head up the stairs to the bowl and meet under the scoreboard. (Only Little Mustangs will be able to enter for free. Any child under Kindergarten age will need a parent or guardian with them.) The Little Mustangs will then go down on the field at 6:30 p.m. where they will be introduced with the Mustang football player they adopted. Anyone not there by 6:15 p.m. may get left behind, so make sure you are there on time! After the introductions, Little Mustangs will form a victory line outside the Mustang Tunnel for the team to run through.
Parents are expected to pick their children up under the scoreboard as soon as they exit the field so that everyone can get to their seats in time for the kick off of the 2011 football season.
Gretchen Jones, one of the Mustang Moms, won the online Star Dodge Tailgate Party contest for this week. Gretchen won $50 and the use of a pickup truck for the party, $100 for the Mustang Moms and a Flip video camera to record the pep rally, football game, tailgate party and the Little Mustangs who participated in Adopt-a-Mustang. The video will be posted on the Star Dodge website next Tuesday to be entered into a $1000 drawing held at the end of the football season. The $1000 prize will be donated to the winning school's Project Graduation - Blowout for those of us here in Sweetwater. Members of the community will need to go to the Star Dodge website to vote on their favorite video. The video with the most votes will win the $1000 prize, so go vote and show your support for Big Red and Sweetwater!
