Mustang Baseball and Softball wrap up their seasons Friday night

Two teams who haven’t had much go right for them since the start of district play — Sweetwater and Big Spring — wrap up their seasons at 7 p.m. today in Big Spring with little more than pride at stake.
Sweetwater brings a 1-6 record into today’s finale, but the win came over Big Spring, which has yet to claim a victory in its seven district games.
The Mustangs won, 3-2, in Sweetwater on April 5 as Kris Mayes threw his second career no-hitter.
Since then, Sweetwater has dropped three straight, the most recent loss a 14-4, five-inning decision at Sny-der that was actually tied at 1-1 after 2 1/2 innings.
Sweetwater had just five hits against the Tigers, get-ting four of them in the fifth inning including an RBI single by Ryan Linebaugh and two-run double by Greg Aiken. Linebaugh, who also cracked a double, scored Mayes with his hit and he and Sean Morrow, who also had a single, both scored on Aiken’s double.
