COAHOMA — After leading by just one point at halftime, the still-undefeated Sweetwater boys basketball team caught fire over the final two periods en route to a 47-30 non-district win over Coahoma on Tuesday.
Sweetwater, now 10-0, led just 17-16 until out-scoring Coahoma 30-14 over the final two periods in the team’s first game of 2014.
Though Coahoma held high-scoring Kaleb Hoover to five points, teammate Dylan Bennett took up the slack by scoring 23 to lead the Mustangs. Michael Hunt had 11, J.P. Poe three, Rhett Torres two and Marquees Jenkins and Quentin Wet-sel one. Sweetwater will host Lake View on Tuesday, then starts district by going to Monahans on Jan. 10.
