Sweetwater won its sec-ond boys golf tournament of the 2012 season on Tuesday by shooting a one-day score of 314 for a two-shot victory at Seminoleâ€™s Gaines County Golf Course.
Sweetwater beat out Midland Christian for first-place honors. Lubbock Monterey (336) was a dis-tant third and Odessa Per-mian (337) was fourth.
Sweetwaterâ€™s Mason Andrews carded a 74 to win tournament medalist honors over Midland Christianâ€™s Jacob Hibler and Lubbock Cooperâ€™s Matt Hillstrom at Seminoleâ€™s tournament.
Hibler and Hillstrom both shot 77s as they finished three back. Sweetwaterâ€™s Ryan Mercer was fourth with a 78 and Dylan Torres shot 79 to tie for fifth. Guy Bond (83) and Alex Castillo (87) had Sweetwaterâ€™s other team scores.

Sweetwater shot 332 on both days of Andrewsâ€™ tour-nament for a 664 total as the Mustangs placed 11th at the event held March 2-3.
Ryan Mercer missed finishing among the top 10 tournament medalists by just one stroke for Sweet-water. Mercer shot rounds of 80-75-155 and beat out over 100 other medalists. Alex Castillo shot 76-88-164, Mason Andrews shot 86-83-169, Dylan Torres shot 90-86-176 and Guy Bond shot 98-100-198. Carson Greathouse of El Paso Coronado (70-73-143) won the medalist title by a three-stroke margin over Andrewsâ€™ Hunter Montgomery.
Sweetwater competed in one of its toughest events of the year as the tournament field included a number of schools from either Class 5A or Class 4A.
Andrews won the team title with a 598, followed by El Paso Coronado (600), Big Spring (633), Plainview (636), El Paso Eastwood (637), Trinity (642), Pecos (652), Fort Stockton (654), Wolfforth Frenship (655), Midland High (662) and Sweetwater.
