The Nolan County Commissioners met for their final regular meeting of 2011 on Tuesday morning, Dec. 27 at the Nolan County Courthouse.
The commissioners approved the purchase of one mobile radio for the Sheriff's Office. Nolan County Sheriff David Warren noted that the majority of the purchase will be paid off by the Homeland Security grant from 2010, which will finish off the grant.
However, the remaining $389 of the purchase price will be paid for with funds from the Sheriff's Office. Within the past year, several area volunteer fire departments and the local TSTC (Texas State Technical College) police have received new communication equipment as well.
Approval was also given to leave the burn ban off for the next two weeks in the county.
The minutes from the December 12, 2011 meeting was approved, and reports from several county offices--including the Veteran's Service Office, the Nolan County auditor and the Government Trapper, among others--were received and approved.
