Sam Nemir (seated at table), a senior at Sweetwater High School, has committed to play college football at Hardin-Simmons University. A ceremony was held to announce Nemir’s decision Wednesday morning at the high school library. Among those who attended were members of Nemir’s family. They included brothers Nick (far left) and Max as well as mother Marina and father Gordon. Nick, a junior, and Sam played together on the 2011 varsity football team at SHS with both winning all-district and all-Big Country recognition. Sam was a two-year starter at both fullback and linebacker, and he led the Mustangs in tackles as a senior.
