Netters defeat Big Spring to end team tennis

Sweetwater was a 13-6 winner at Big Spring in its final team tennis match.
Jenny Ordway, Dugan Thompson and Addisyn Cleckler won in girls singles and Austin Cotherman, Michael Foust, Brandon Ellison and Joe Lopez were the team’s winners in boys singles. Ordway-Thompson (8-3) and Cleckler-Kristen Casto won in girls doubles while in boys doubles, the team of Cotherman and Foust won 8-4 over the No. 1 Big Spring doubles team. Ellison and Lopez were also winners in boys doubles.
“The Mustangs played very hard,” said coach Shella Arnwine. Sweetwater will begin individual play March 25 when it goes to Wolfforth Frenship’s one-day tournament in Lubbock.
