New POS software approved for RPMH

November 27, 2013

The Nolan County Hospital District board of directors approved new POS (point of sale) software for the dietary department during their meeting Monday night at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
The item has been budgeted for some time, but the request was made this year. The software--totaling around $16,000--will help update the department through various means.
For instance, employees will now be able to do payroll deduction for meals, and debit and credit cards will now be accepted. The department will be able to have better control on their inventory, and up to 25 menus can be pre-loaded on the program.
Other items approved for purchase was replacement equipment for the pool in order to help maintain heat. Three bids were received for the project, with the high bid coming in at $67,000.
The board intends to spend up to that amount from the Physical Therapy fund. Some re-engineering is expected for the project, in which all three bidders will have an opportunity to offer a report before a final decision is made.
In addition, approval was given for replacement equipment for the Cardiac Rehab, which will cost around $10,000.
Also during the meeting, the October 2013 financial statements were reviewed and approved, in which discussion was held on various items in the monthly recap. The accounts payable and payroll for October 2013 were reviewed and approved, as well as the bad debt write-off list for the past month.
The minutes from the previous meeting were additionally approved, and following a brief executive session, the credentialing files were approved as well.
